The Directorate of Health Services at St. Joseph University In Tanzania (SJUIT) is responsible for promoting the health and well-being of students and staff
Provision of Primary Healthcare Services
Offering outpatient medical consultations, basic treatment, first aid, and minor emergency care within the University health facility.
Preventive and Public Health Services
Conducting health education, vaccination programs, disease prevention campaigns, and awareness initiatives on issues such as HIV/AIDS, malaria, and mental health.
Medical Screening and Certification
Carrying out medical examinations for new students and staff, issuing medical reports, and certifying fitness where required.
Referral Services and Emergency Coordination
Referring complicated cases to specialized hospitals and coordinating emergency responses when necessary.
Health Records Management
Maintaining confidential medical records of students and staff in accordance with professional and legal standards.
Occupational Health and Safety Support
Advising the University on workplace health and safety matters, including sanitation, infection control, and environmental health standards.
Counseling and Wellness Support
Supporting mental health and psychosocial well-being through counseling services and wellness programs.
Health Policy Implementation
Implementing institutional health policies and ensuring compliance with national health regulations and guidelines.
