Recruitment and Selection
Managing the recruitment process, including advertising vacancies, shortlisting candidates, coordinating interviews, and facilitating appointments in line with university policies and regulations.
Staff Introduction and Orientation
Organizing orientation programmes for newly appointed staff to familiarize them with university policies, culture, procedures, and expectations.
Performance Management and Appraisal
Coordinating staff performance evaluation processes, ensuring regular appraisals, and supporting implementation of performance improvement plans.
Training and Staff Development
Identifying training needs, organizing professional development programmes, and facilitating capacity-building initiatives to enhance staff competencies
Payroll and Benefits Administration
Managing staff salaries, allowances, statutory deductions, pensions, leave records, and other employee benefits in compliance with applicable laws.
Employee Relations and Welfare
Handling staff grievances, disciplinary matters, conflict resolution, and promoting harmonious industrial relations within the institution
Policy Development and Implementation
Developing, reviewing, and implementing human resource policies, guidelines, and administrative procedures consistent with national regulations and university statutes.
Records and Personnel Data Management
Maintaining accurate and confidential personnel records, staff databases, and HR information systems.
Leave and Attendance Management
Overseeing leave administration (annual, sick, maternity, study leave, etc.) and monitoring staff attendance, including biometric systems where applicable.
Compliance with Labour Laws and Regulations
Ensuring adherence to national labour laws, public service regulations, and directives from relevant authorities including regulatory bodies.
Organizational Structure and Establishment Control
Managing staff establishment, job descriptions, workload distribution, and organizational structure alignment with institutional goals.
